"I can't help it, wallpaper should be not only flawless but seamless too."
This is me, I nitpick and I hate wallpapering…
I love the machines we have...
Our Océ Colorado prints the most stunning quality and our 3.2m large format machine is fast but with the quality we need. I do not have problem with print quality, it’s the fitting of the digitally printed wallpaper that really gets me.
Trimming around plugs is easy, even the ceiling and skirting boards is fine, but I detest the overlap & trim and I don’t trust the registration on a length either on our Zund G3 Digital Cutter or our Fotoba XY Cutter.
The feeling you get when you are sliding through the overlapped pieces of wallpaper fills me with dread… what if I slip. You only get one chance, do it right or it’s a redo! Before your know it’s reprint, revisit and by which time your adhesive has dried!
And the solution is...
So, we discover that we can purchase printable wallpaper at 3.2m wide and can print to almost this width. This has meant we have been able to print a whole wall in one piece and the results are stunning.
It is much faster to print and prepare and there are no colour consistency issues (we have had this with old machines, not naming). The biggest thing for me and our customers (yours and ours) the superior finish of a single piece wallpaper. There are:
- No Joins
- No Accidental Tears
- Faster Install Times
- Fast Print & Prepare, So Faster turnaround
- No Registration Issues (lining up between panels)
- No White Line Where The Join Is In A Dark Printed Area
- Better Customer Feedback
Honestly, once your customer has experienced this they will not expect joins going on. Also, you will notice that the big graphics guys are using this… it is coming, so get ahead of the trend with single piece wallpaper.
